Contractor Assessments – For Clients

As a client you must satisfy yourself that all contractors you engage are competent (i.e. they have sufficient skills and knowledge) to do the job safely and without risks to health and safety.

The degree of competence required will depend on the complexity of the work and nature of the tasks to be carried out. You must ensure contractors know and fully understand what performance you expect from them. Explain your requirements including your health and safety arrangements, procedures, permit systems, health and safety policy statement and make sure they understand and will act in accordance with it.
