Portable Appliance Testing - PAT

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is crucial to protect your business, your equipment and your employees. Health & Safety Executive (HSE) figures show that a quarter of all reportable electrical accidents involve portable appliances. It is, therefore essential that you have these checked. The Electricity at Work Regulations place a legal responsibility on employers, employees and the self-employed to comply with the regulations and take ‘reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of such equipment’. This means implementing a systematic, regular maintenance program of inspection and testing.

The frequency, level of inspection and testing required will largely dependent upon the appliances you have and how at risk they are off becoming damaged or defective. This may be down to where the appliance is used i.e. an extension cable on a construction site which is thrown out and in vans then used on a wet or dusty environment will require more routine inspections than a desk lamp used in an office.

We can provide a fast, professional service you can rely on to fulfil your obligations cost effectively.
We can provide testing for all electrical equipment and use the latest PAT equipment – 230V and 110V appliances in accordance with The Institute of Electrical Engineers’ (IEE) code of practice.
