Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS) Monitoring

Having Accurate Measurements Means You Can implement Effective Control Measures to Reduce the Risk – We Can Help

Protecting your workforce from the effects of hand arm and full body vibration can be a hard task to control effectively. The Guidance to The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 highlights areas for controlling exposure such as:
• Working methods which eliminate or reduce exposure
• Choice of work equipment of appropriate ergonomic design
• The provision of auxiliary equipment
• Appropriate maintenance programmes
• The design and layout of workplaces
• Suitable and sufficient information and training for employees
• Limitation of the duration and magnitude of exposure
• Appropriate work schedules with adequate rest periods
• Protection of employees from cold and damp

We provide whole body and hand and arm vibration risk assessments to meet the control of vibration at work regulations 2005. These include:
• Measurement of vibration magnitude in all three axes while applying dominant axis criteria for whole body
• Personal vibration dosimetry based on HSE spread sheet calculators
• Advice on engineering control options for HAVS (hand-arm vibration syndrome) and WBV (whole body vibration)
